The Sea Song Sings

With the surf

my sadness surges

waves pour into the breach

my life is sinking

sinking,

sinking into the deep.

In the froth

my longings stir

emptiness fills the gaps

and brings the lack—

floating,

floating,

floating on my back.

The sea song sings

and rings my ears

the bell has tolled—

my love,

my love,

my love is gone

squandered upon the wind.

Brevity is constant as the tide,

my heart,

my heart

my heart was cast aside

—with the surf

my sadness surges

sorrow my only friend

Chorus:

I need to feel—

feel my pain.

Iet it flow

out to see again

so it can not become

the master,

the master over me

My rigging adjusted,

blow wind blow—

I let it flow

out to see,

out to know

so it does not—

will not

master over me

I sing the see song

It sets me free.
