The enemy wants my eyes off of Jesus and His goodness.
He will use everything to accomplish it.
He hits that “loss,” “rejected,” “unqualified,” emotionalbutton often as possible.
He wants me to turn to control, fantasy, drugs, booze, anything butGod, to cope.
He loves confusion.
He thrives on distrust.
He loves isolation.
He loves to use my past pain to stir current fear.
He loves future worry.
He wants my everyday emotions tied down with the past failures.
He longs for me to forget how faithful God has been.
He wants me to forget how God has provided.
He wants me to doubt God’s plan.
He wants me to question if God even cares about my life.
He especially wants me to question if God actually loves me.
He wants to destroy my gratitude.
He wants to silence my prayers.
He wants to squash my faith.
He seeks to silence my worship of the One True God.
His job description is, Kill, Steal, Destroy, and he is good at it.
But Jesus says,
“I am the way, the truth, and the life.” John 14:6
“Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowlyin heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29
“In this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome theworld!” John 16:33
“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” 1 Peter 5:5b
“Restore to me the joy of your salvation.” Psalm 51:12a
